North Aliomanu Beach is, well, north of South Aliomanu Beach and the better beach between the two. It's also likely to have fewer people on it, though it can get busy on weekends.

While it can be very secluded, it's not a great beach for swimming since the it's very rocky and reefy in many spots.

On the flip side, it can be great for snorkeling due to a reef about 100 yards off shore. As mentioned, the shore is very rocky so you may want to wear water shoes.

To get here from the Kuhio Highway, take Papaa Road or Aliomanu Road to Kalalea View Drive. Then turn towards the ocean onto Kalalea View and drive to the end of the road, turn right, and you'll see a small parking lot where you can park. Right at the southeast end of the lot is where the trail to the beach starts. It's a short 5 minute walk down to the beach which we've marked on our map / directions page.

Now, if you want a way better beach and don't mind a slightly longer hike as well as some boulder hopping, then you'll love nearby Papa'a Bay. Stay in the same parking lot and follow the access trail at the end of Kalalea View, right before you turned right for the parking lot.
